I've always loved documenting moments through photos. From disposable Kodak cameras throughout my childhood, to the trusty pink Sony Cybershot that hung from my wrist for almost 3 years straight at every college event, and eventually my first DSLR camera that my parent's gifted me one Christmas- it's always been about one thing; capturing my nearest and dearest and preserving those moments in time.
Photographing people is just one of my many loves. I'm also a mother of two beautiful girls and a primary school teacher. I love spending time in my garden, and even more, I enjoy snooping on other people's beautiful gardens (if your backyard just happens to be an epic garden PLEASE let me come photograph you in it!).
I love photographing people in their everyday environments. I know some of my favourite photos from my childhood are the ones where I'm home. Sometimes I can spot familiar toys in the background, or I can see that the furniture was arranged differently to how I remember. The environment in itself often holds more memories than the subjects of the photos.
I would love nothing more than for my photos to be able to transport you back to a time and place in your life that holds so many special memories for you. I won't ask you to pose, I'll won't ask you to smile- in fact, I love a grumpy or tired face just as much as a happy one. I want your family photos to reflect your personalities and if that means a stubborn toddler who refuses to do anything you ask then I'd love to preserve that memory for you.
No frills, just honest photos that you're going to love. I promise.
I'm a very messy person.
There, I said it. My wardrobe is a floordrobe, the toy room light often just gets switched off and the room left in chaos (I mean, they're only going to destroy it again tomorrow right?), and I will sleep easy at night knowing the dirty dishes are still sitting on the sink waiting for me.
Buuuut my filing system for my photos? 10/10 perfection.
I LOVE creating. I don't know how many different craft related hobbies I have tried. My youngest daughter's wardrobe actually doesn't have a single thing in it that belongs to her (and that is not an exaggeration). It is all my craft supplies. Paintbrushes, embroidery hoops, air dry clay, cricut foil transfer sheets, calligraphy pens... I could go on all day.
I read Marie Kondo's 'Spark Joy' book a few years back and I now love folding clothes. Don't ask me about the washing pile on my couch that's been there for days, but when I do finally get to it I actually find it very relaxing.
